In general, when you halt the system, you are returned to
the hardware monitor (OpenBoot, SRM console, whatever it's
called on your platform).

However, since the i386 hardware (unlike most everything
else) does not have a hardware monitor, an infinite loop
is entered when you halt the system.  It could be argued
that it would make sense to return to /boot/loader.  But
I don't think that would be easy to do.
