There is a patch in the ports/x11/XFree86-4/files/patch-xthreads (of December
2000) which is supposed to turn on XTHREADS for FreeBSD. Either you'll need
to find the fresh X binary package, or to compile everything yourself.

Interesting that on my CURRENT (of 5 January 2001; ports of 26 January) this
patch breaks compilation of Xlib. Everything's fine whan it's removed. I
haven't got any messages about missing libraries yet, but maybe just because
I didn't try anything like xine...
