Streams support.

Hello,
 I just need a clarification regarding streams support. Does FreeBSD
 provides support for streams programming. - i don't think so.
I need info regarding how the  network stack is implemented in FreeBSD.
hope its very similar to linux architecture.

If possible please do specify probable links
which speak about internals of networking stack
in FreeBSD.
