I'm experiencing serious problems with DMA (even normal DMA, not UDMA) on recent versions of -STABLE. Here's an excerpt from messages; kernel #3 is a recent -STABLE (yesterday's sources), while kernel #2 is 3.2-RELEASE. The config file for both is identical.
