I suspect vendors are not that interested in supporting another BIOS unless/until they see potential $$$ ("value proposition" in MBA speak). We seem to have found a workable value proposition here. It won't cost them anything, and they get the results of our work on sourceforge.net, and there may be competitive advantage in the Linux market at some point.
