It turns out that with 12.2 (and probably earlier, I don't know since we didn't
do this earlier) the impact of enabling geli for a large number of disks (SSDs
in our case, 8-24 devices depending on the system) is that system loads average
much, much higher than normal. Reducing number of threads immediately brings
load back down.

Note: This is not limited to AMD/EPYC - most recently we saw it have pretty
dramatic effect on Intel servers, too.
