That was supposed a quick swap and it failed with a surprise. Will try to recreate that situation logs with script / tee / hexdump as requiested and report back.. probably I will have to buy another one or will use some SD card if I have one.. maybe first sectors would be enough :-) I was also surprised after dd if=/dev/da0 of=/dev/da1 put data on a pendrive but no MBR.
