I've reopened PR 236616 which is forcing virtualbox to an old version of clang. This is clearly fallout from r358439, but if the scope of this fallout is this narrow then we should really coerce the virtualbox build over to GCC or fix the runtime breakage on newer compilers rather than request a revert or rework of the optimization for this one port.
