The FreeBSD Handbook, Chapter 12. Linux Binary Compatibility:

Its first suggestion for linux userland is in section:
12.3.1. CentOS Base System from FreeBSD Packages
But the package it recommends, linux_base-c7, is deprecated.
Seems therefore that the handbook should not recommend this at all!
