Bug ID: 274197 Summary: Supported FreeBSD releases, and the FreeBSD support model: resolve inconsistency Product: Documentation Version: Latest Hardware: Any URL: https://github.com/freebsd/freebsd-doc/blob/70c8a7baf6 c51c8c7f0db9ee4fe09fd14d9c1e9a/website/content/en/secu rity/_index.adoc?plain=1#L110 OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Many People Priority: --- Component: Website Assignee: d...@freebsd.org Reporter: grahamper...@gmail.com CC: r...@freebsd.org Flags: maintainer-feedback?(r...@freebsd.org) CC: r...@freebsd.org <https://www.freebsd.org/security/#model> begins > Under the current support model, each major version’s stable branch is > explicitly supported for 5 years, while each individual point release is > only supported for three months after the next point release. The table under <https://www.freebsd.org/security/#sup> does not yet show stable/14. So (given what's quoted) the table seems to be outdated, however the table is, at this time, correct. For things within the page to be consistent with each other, now and in the future: * expand what's currently line 110. The phrase "first release" seems suitable: > Under the current support model, each major version’s stable branch is > explicitly supported for 5 years from the first release, while each > individual > point release is only supported for three months after the next point release. re@ would you like me to prepare a patch file?
