I saw there is a zoom client in ports, but it said that audio is broken?

It's the Linux binary that runs under Linuxulator, which has its own issues especially wrt interactions between FreeBSD and Linux services and components, sound inclusive. Zoom in the browser works fine.
I'm happy to move to zoom instead.

About jitsi - I'll have to research options. You do need a server to host and
run this, if I'm not mistaken? If you have any recommendations, I'd be very
interested and would appreciate any inputs of course.

One of my local user groups has been using the public instance Jitsi Meet ever since lockdown with great success. This also works entirely in a browser.
