I'm closing this as "overcome" because we're several fontconfig and firefox
releases down the road. I think for this kind of issues we really need a "do
exactly this to configure fonts" followed by screenshots with BIG RED ARROWS.
Preferably the same situation in bug and non-bug situations, with BIG RED
ARROWS pointing at the bug parts. In the "Firefox bugged" screenies in this PR
I can't even find Firefox.
