Well this is an interesting one. The trap 12 came from a previous panic trying to print the panic string on what appears to be free'd memory with INVARIANTS enabled. Digging through the trace, it appears there was a problem in the ip forwarding code. Sam Leffler is aware of this problem and is working on it.
