I've tried that, and am still having the exact same problem. Also, looking at it in greater detail, when I do take the link down, then back up, my transfer speed from Windows XP ---> FreeBSD is roughly half of what it was before the whole problem started happening. This was determined using PerformanceTest on the Windows XP box doing disk tests on a Samba share.
