I use this in make.conf

MASTER_SITE_OVERRIDE=ftp://freebsd.cisco.com/pub/FreeBSD/distfiles/${DIST_SUBDIR}/

to get stuff off an internal mirror

There are probably better ways to do it, but this has worked for me.
