Well, it's not only maestro hardware:

pcm0: <Intel 82801CA (ICH3)> port 0x18c0-0x18ff,0x1c00-0x1cff irq 11 at device 3
1.5 on pci0

The same with a CMI8738.

I don't have any boards with these chips, but if it helps, I can give
you full root access on one of the machines.
