I take great offense in all of what you posted. Your opinion is extremely short-sighted and one-sided. I don't have any problem with removing 386 support from GENERIC, and there need be no requirement to pre-build anything beyond what has already been decided, but I would hope that it will be possible to simply 'make' a 386 kernel--and all the rest--indefinitely. -- Paul A.
