This patch is small and simple and allows us to reclaim a huge number of
inodes. It also allows for an easy transition.

I think the information in the comment probably belongs at the top of the
description as well, but either way is fine as soon as I see a patch for
other proposed placement. I just want my inodes back, sooner rather than
later.
