I believe that hw.ata.wc is set to '0' by default. Easily correctible
either by adding 'hw.ata.wc="1"' into your /boot/loader.conf or
tweaking the source in /usr/src/sys/dev/ata/ata-disk.c (the former
being the preferred method of course).
