'device random' required in conf file?

    buildkernel based on cvs pulled 2000 09 24 1420 UCT:

      linking kernel
      if_spppsubr.o: in function `sppp_chap_scr':
      if_spppsubr.o(.text+0x3f54): undefined reference to `read_random'
      *** error code 1
      stop in /usr/src/obj/usr/src/sys/hun.

    adding (pseudo)device random to conf file made link.  I had planned to
    load random with loader.conf.local ...
