Answering both:

[zen] /usr/lib # ls -ld /lib
drwxr-xr-x  3 root  wheel  1536 Jul 28 19:07 /lib
[zen] /usr/lib # ls -l /lib/libgcc_s.so.1
-r--r--r--  1 root  wheel  57792 Jul 28 19:07 /lib/libgcc_s.so.1
