If the "make installkernel" is being done from /usr/src, yes. Contents of /etc/make.conf and/or /etc/src.conf may have bearing on this, as well. I am in the habit of performing all of my builds/installs under script(1); that tends to reduce ambiguity about what happened. Peace, david -- David H.
