In my box (amd64, current 20.oct.10 ) some time hang by 5-10 minutes with random subsystem, may hang disk access,network,very often tty. In most no output in log, sometimes with messages "calcru: .....". After 5-10 minutes it continue work again. When I disabled HPET in bios - problem gone.
