For a total of 3-5 slices/partitions/chunks like

        /       /usr    swap    /home   /var    /tmp

I'd much  rather have an  array then a  link list... And  shorter device
names too... Is  it worth it to  keep the two tactics in  place with the
kernel build option? I don't know... Sincerely,
