i don't know if and how to do this, or if it would be generally useful, but i
looked into loader and implemented a multiple loader.env support
focus is on embedded and / or unattended and / or power failure prone platforms
which could switch between primary / secondary rootfs using that file
i'm up to better solutions too, via uboot, via geom labeling
maybe cc'd imp will have more ideas how this could be (bsd-)imp-lemented (what
a pun!)
i also heard vague ideas to improve (imp-rove (?)) boot/loader in that area
miniature diff attached to make it clear
