Rule: rctl -a process:32502:memoryuse:deny=1G Live: rctl -h | grep 32502 process:32502:memoryuse:deny=1024M Actual usage: rctl -uh process:32502 | grep memoryuse memoryuse=2599M vmemoryuse=5663M The process does seem to switch in and out of state RACCT, as viewed through the top interface.
