Attempting to run a basic system-wide sampling mode profiling fails:
# pmcstat -S unhalted-cycles -O /tmp/sample.out
pmcstat: ERROR: Cannot allocate system-mode pmc with specification
"unhalted-cycles": Invalid argument
# uname -a
