Bug ID: 218731 Summary: FREEBSD 11 SCSI drive issue with all 11.xxxx versions running under HYPER-V as a VM Product: Base System Version: 11.0-RELEASE Hardware: amd64 OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Some People Priority: --- Component: kern Assignee: freebsd-bugs@FreeBSD.org Reporter: mx5a...@hotmail.com Not sure if I've categorized this correctly, but wanted to report a problem with version 11 that was not happening with 10.3. I use NAS4FREE which is built upon FREEBSD Unix O/S and run it as a virtual machine with Microsoft's HYPER-V on Windows 10 Professional. Integration services are included and it runs well as a virtual machine. A new problem has shown up testing version 11 with SCSI defined hard drives being attached to HYPER-V VM. Hard drives attached in this manner are no longer visible with V11.XXXX running in a VM. I've now tried several versions of V11.xxxx and all show the same problem. IDE defined drives do show up, however this limits me to 3 drives which is not adequate. As mentioned above this does not happen with all versions of NAS4FREE 10.3.XXXX based on FREEBSD 10.3.XXXX. I've submitted this same problem on NAS4FREE support site however they can't seem to be able to help me and wonder if this problem is part of the base system. I also tried running FREEBSD 11.xxxx as a VM under HYPER-V and the boot does not complete successfully but am not knowledgeable enough to provide enough information as to why.
