It's impossible to change a termcap entry.
It seems like termcap entries are engraved in stone inside FreeBSD's code and 
cannot be modified in /etc/termcap
>How-To-Repeat:
Edit /etc/termcap
Change any entry (say, for example xterm since it's the default)
Apply the modifications using cap_mkdb
cap_mkdb -f /usr/share/misc/termcap /etc/termcap

make sure /etc/ttys uses the entry you have modified

Reboot
See that the entry you modified has not changed.
