There is no kernel support for Brooktree 8x8 capture devices, although the 
"bktr" manpage exists, and the "Hardware Notes" indicate support for such 
devices. There is speculation about that it was removed because it is 
unmaintained or that a commit clobbered the code. Nor will bktr compile during 
a custom kernel build. Where did it go?
