>Description:
The system nvi(1) does not properly display wide characters, e.g., UTF-8,
displaying those characters as hexadecimal "\xab\xab" instead.
It is 2011 and UTF-8 has been around for over a decade now. FreeBSD is very far
behind in not supporting UTF-8 throughout all system tools. It is high time we
updated our tools.
>How-To-Repeat:
Edit a file containing UTF-8 characters.
>Fix:
Update the system nvi(1) to the version in the port editors/nvi-devel which
does support wide character sets (and has done for years).
