Not according to VCL Media Player. I simply selected "File - Open Network Stream" and pasted in the MP3 URL. VCL played it without problem. ps: I don't know if VCL first downloads the file, then plays it, or plays (streams) it directly. I have no clue, sorry. I didn't notice any new files being created in my /tmp/ folder while the music was playing via VCL though.
