In fact at best someone (me) should modify the demonapp.pp unit in the fpc library to allow for this kind of re-spawning.

No.

There are a lot of other factors involved, which you cannot control in such a general-purpose component.

I had thought about introducing this when doing the implementation, but decided against it.
