For the record: I was trying to port this: http://developer.pidgin.im/wiki/CHowTo/BasicPluginHowto to FPC and now I have posted the results of yesterday's experiments after it finally started working for the first time in the Lazarus forum: http://www.lazarus.freepascal.org/index.php/topic,10795.msg91177.html#msg91177 just in case somebody else also wants to experiment with it and doesn't have to start from zero.
