The best things you can do are to: - Search the web for a freely available document called: "Serial Programming Guide for POSIX Oaperating Systems" This document shows you how to set up serial ports on Linux, the most important part when you cann open the port but not send or receive anything meaningful. - Use the device the system gives you. ANything else is aking for trouble (IMHO). If you can access and use the hardware port in question at all, maybe connecting a mouse or something, it will work in your fpc programs. > My posts to this list are not written against any person.
