-vi is always needed. Usually, for a release, there is -viwh in your fpc.cfg.
Could you check if this is the case for 2.2.2 ?
Surprisingly, I don't found a fpc.cfg on my harddisk.
I had uninstalled the previous 2.2.0 an installed the 2.2.2 from
sourceforge. But no config was generated.
