There are more people than you :_) For me (and I mean that with my fulltime Delphi programmer hat on), full compability would be a bad thing. Compability is a beast that means for every time the gap gets ten times smaller (90% - 99% - 99.9% etc), the work to close that gap also get ten times as much, and the limitations get worse ( e.g. crossplatform libs turn into windows or Linux/x86-2.4.x-as-in-kylix emulations).
