MacOS was written in pascal and assembler from version 0 to 6.x.; System 7.0 and 7.1 was a mix of C/C++, ObjectPascal and Assm 68k and since then C/C++ and assm 68k/PPC. Apple was "forced" to change to C/C++ because developers as Adobe, Macromedia, etc... wanted it
As a personal note i found, when C/C++ comes as the principal language, more instability, bugs and errors.
