Building trunk is only supported for the latest release, which is 2.4.4.
So if I were you I'd try 2.4.4 and if that doesn't help, then ask again ;)
On my WinXP I can compile FPC 2.5.1 (branches_2_6) and 2.4.5 versions.
No errors.
I didn't say that it mustn't work. But you're only on the save side if
you use tha latest release.
