Hello, my name is Jared Jennings and thanks for letting me join GNOME.

I have worked as a professional Information Technology consultant since I was
16. My career started when I joined a small Novell Platinum partner. I gained
my first certification before I turned 17 and was deeply rooted in NetWare,
GroupWise, ZENworks and various Linux server distributions.

About 6 years ago I started programming in Java and C#. It was at this point
that I became deeply interested in Tomboy and improving Open source
applications. I have always been a user and even helped a whole school switch
to Novell Linux Desktop. Deciding to help and become involved has been one of
the better decisions I have made.

I see Open source as enabling innovation, enabling education and encouraging an
attitude of improvement. Great things in history have happened because someone
said, “It doesn’t have to be this way”.

Today I am one of the Tomboy maintainers. I also started Tomboy-library[1],
which will encourage development on multiple devices and platforms. The library
will also address decoupling issues with the UI and Core. I’m also working on a
new Tomboy for OS X using MonoMac. This will be released as part of the GNOME
and Mono Love Hackfast in 2012. I also work for Computer Integrated Services
(CIS) as a Senior Technology Architect. Where I enjoy work with a great team
and various Identity and Access Management products.
