Regardless of whether or not Obama was raised in whatever you consider to be 'African American culture', he has no doubt experienced life in a very different way from someone who has 'white' skin - something he likely shares in common with anyone living in the US who is perceived as non-white. And just as there is no one 'white' culture, there is no one 'African American' culture.
