Hi, As Flex's first PMC chair is being discussed, and as there's often confusion about that, I'd like to remind people that in general the PMC chair does not have more power than other PMC members, it's "just" a liaison role with the Apache board of directors.
So, many thanks to whoever accepts, as it's a thankless role sometimes - well, of course you get a VP title so it's not that bad ;-) Details at http://www.apache.org/dev/pmc.html and http://www.apache.org/foundation/how-it-works.html#pmc Also, IMO it's a good idea to re-discuss the PMC chair once a year - not necessarily change it, but at least ask the current chair if they want to continue or step down, and give others the opportunity to step up. Being a PMC chair gives you more insight about how the foundation works and how other projects are doing, so it's good to rotate in order to spread that knowledge and experience. HTH, -Bertrand (trying not to sound too much like an old-fartish incubation mentor ;-)
