For sure, I will try to remain involved in Apache Flex forever, but there is
no way I can guarantee that, especially if Adobe were to remove me from
full-time participation in Apache Flex. I have two small kids at home
including one with special needs so I have limited spare time.

I'm pretty sure I'm on Apache Flex for at least another year. We've passed
the anniversary of last year's restructuring last week and management all
the way up to SVP say nothing is changing for me. If this project has good
momentum, I doubt I will be re-assigned at the end of next year.

If at some point I am unable to serve as PMC Chair I will start a search for
a replacement (and of course, if I am not doing a good job, you will
probably find a replacement for me).

But the key for me is this coming year. We've been doing donations and just
getting back to parity. With Falcon and soon, FalconJS, I feel like we have
almost cut all of our ties to Adobe and the future is entirely in our hands.
I need to show my management stack that Apache Flex is thriving, and is
staying or becoming essential to many customers that Adobe touches, and that
I'm a key player in all of that. That's how I get to keep my job.
