not all mx components have their spark equivalent ones, so i guess more spark 
components in future version would be nice.

Yes, they are free to do so, as long as it is clear that the project is not
required to deliver on it.   In theory, votes on bugs in JIRA and
discussions on the mailing list provide a guide for folks looking for things
to do.  But really, the term "scratch your own itch" is used often.

I'm not advocating anarchy, I am advocating the Apache Way, which we have to
"get" in order to graduate.

But there are no project leads.  Just a bunch of committers and lots of
other folks on the mailing list.
