All,
I need help testing the autoupdate functionality. Since the Windows and
Mac versions run through different codepaths for auto-updating, we need
independent confirmations that this functionality is working. Here are the
steps. Please help test and report any issues you find:
Steps (ONLY WINDOWS for now, Mac build is coming up)
1. On a browser, navigate to:
http://people.apache.org/~bigosmallm/installapacheflex/
2. Click on the 'Download' button
3. Run the InstallApacheFlex.exe that gets downloaded. The
InstallApacheFlex app will now be installed on your machine.
4. Click on the 'Install Log' button. Ensure that you see 'Version *0.7.12
*' in the log
5 (optional) Run through the ApacheFlex4.8.0 installation steps.
6. Send a reply to this email letting me know that you are ready for an
update
7. Close the InstallApacheFlex app
8. I will push a new build and send out another email confirming that
InstallApacheFlex version *0.7.13* is available
9. Open InstallApacheFlex that is already installed on your machine
Expected result:
The installer should prompt you that a new update is available.
10. Click 'Yes' for updating the app
11. When the app restarts, Click on the 'Install Log' button. Ensure that
you see 'Version *0.7.13*' in the log
11. Respond back on this email confirming that you were able to
successfully update the app OR report any issues you faced during the
update process.
