Based on your clarifications in FLEX-53, I think it's fine to go ahead and implement a mechanism to download playerglobal.swc and/or airglobal.swc, with a suitable warning that points people to FLEX-53 for example. Or just instruct users to download those files themselves. Even if the Flex team finds a better way later that avoids requiring those files, I think considering them as build tools that people have to download separately is fine for now. Your original post also mentions mixing up Apache Flex code with other files for FlashBuilder, it might be best to discuss this as a separate issue, for clarity. -Bertrand
