Since we're now faced with this new hurdle of getting feedback from
Atlassian is it worth our time to investigate other means for getting the
JIRA info into the Apache Flex JIRA? Since we're already losing some data,
such as poster information etc, should we look into perhaps writing an AIR
app that ingests all the XML and then processes it using the JIRA API to
input all the data into JIRA?

If you think this is something worth investigating I'd be willing to
download the JIRA data and spending time on writing an AIR app that uses
the JIRA API to test this, I'm just not sure if we have the API permissions
required and I'd have to check if I can get a local JIRA installed to
dev/test against.
