Okay, let me clarify a few things. First, I apologize if that came across as a "rant". Perhaps my definition has been skewed by 15 years of marriage. If you prefer to dismiss it as such, well, be my guest. I tried to get across that my "frustration" is with the huge disparity between what I see as the level of discussion happening, the amount of code that has been offered up and discussed and what has actually been committed to even the patch branch - to say nothing of the trunk. How does not allowing any commits to the trunk until Adobe is all done fit into "the Apache way"?
Tink's layouts have been around forever, been used by quite a bit of the Flex community and, I feel, fill a need in the SDK but remain in his whiteboard. Why? For the record, I've have created code, offered it up for proposal and discussion. It was discussed. I don't take it personally because its what has happened with pretty much every other bit of code offered up for proposal and discussion on this list. I will continue to contribute where I can to the project and community. That wasn't the point I was trying to make, though.
