To start, probably something based on Falcon JS.
There is probably two to three years work to get something useful along
these lines. I can't predict where the world will be in that time so yes,
something could come along that makes it completely obvious that this effort
is not required. However, my current motivation for working on it is this:
some large companies have lots of Flex code and want a plan where, if Flash
were to somehow disappear, they could leverage some of their knowledge and
code to get to the HTML/JS/CSS world. Maybe the Flex development paradigm
is so awesome that it will attract new folks, but it doesn't matter to me if
it does or doesn't. If folks with existing code bases want something like
this, I will work on it.
