Hi, right. This is only a proposal like the contest rules say and is only a path to follow. Final versión should come for the winner.
Arrow cuts are in some designs only to show a possible variation. For The logo I think it should not necesary have tipical motivs of flex until now (The F and X). Think in other well known icons. Chrome icon today represents chrome. But as it was presented it was only a icon that works. Only time could make people make the match. The arrow cuts through the L and the X which degrades readability and makes it typographically incorrect. This is especially so for the L > Maybe this is tweakable? > A second remark is about the rectangle version which contains only the arrow. In an application logo, I'd like to see a clearer reference to Flex itself, IMHO off course. > > Beste regards, > > Dany Dhondt > Archemedia > > Op 14-jan.-2012, om 11:52 heeft Carlos Rovira het volgende geschreven: > >> Hello, this is my entry for the apache flex logo contest. >> >> PNG Preview >> http://carlosrovira.com/apache-flex-logo-final-proposal.jpg >> >> ZIP FILE >> http://carlosrovira.com/apache-flex-logo-final-proposal.zip >> >> Best Regards >> >> -- >> Carlos Rovira >> Director de Tecnología >> M: +34 607 22 60 05 >> F: +34 912 35 57 77 >> >> CODEOSCOPIC S.A. <http://www.codeoscopic.com> >> Avd. del General Perón, 32 >> Planta 10, Puertas P-Q >> 28020 Madrid > > -- Sent from Gmail Mobile
